Sable
Question: If you were to ask some of the hottest chefs where they go to eat when they go to Chicago, right now many would answer Sable. What I'm about to show you are the photos we took of our adventure there, the night before we went to Alinea. (sorry there aren't more)

Green Chili Pork Posole
This was a great dish, well worth the effort and in my estimation it goes a long way. Very tasty if you spice it right.

Turkey Cutlets with Mojo Sauce
Go, now and try this.
This is a repeater for us; absolutely one of my favorite recipes that Julie makes. It tastes amazing, my only recommendation is to double up on the mojo sauce...yeah it's that good. In the words of fake Guy Fieri (of SNL fame) 'I'd eat that off a movin' truck tire!'

Roasted Tomatillo Soup
Seriously, this is worth a try. It's an excellent soup, and it gets even better with a couple of days. We got this from Kitchen Confidante.Wednesday, February 1, 2012
Martha Stewart's Everyday food - Baked ravioli
We took this recipe from Martha Stewart's Everyday Food site, Baked Ravioli.
It's easy, tasty and not horrible for you.

Alinea Tease
For those of you that followed our epicurean adventure to the mecca that is Alinea on saturday night via facebook, here is a bit of a tease. It's our souvenir menu indicating everything we had the pleasure of trying. I have photos of probably half of these items, and I'll be posting them tomorrow.

Beef Burgundy - Cookbook Classics
Wow was this a tasty meal; Julie has made this one other time, but this time we had friends over, so more than just myself got the opportunity to enjoy her handywork.

Hopped up black beans & rice bowl from Bon Appetit
So I personally prefer our photos over those of Bon Appetit, however I can't fault you for wanting to see theirs.

Blackened Catfish Fajitas 1/17/2012
We borrowed a recipe from The Kitchn last night, Blackened Catfish Fajitas. There really wasn't much to it, just cut up the veggies, hit them in the Wok. Do up the catfish bits, hit those in the wok separate from the Veggies, and then once cooked, combine for a final round of heat, and server with Cotija cheeses and your hot sauce of choice.

This blog is a continuation of the project we started when we lived in Milwaukee.
